The Challenge
H.H. Sheikh Rashid Al Maktoum Pakistani School in Dubai serves 1,500 students and required a network solution that prioritised student safety above all else. The school's administration needed robust content controls to prevent access to inappropriate material, protect students from online threats, and ensure that the school's internet connection was being used exclusively for educational purposes.
What We Delivered
NETCUE deployed an EdgeCue EC-2000 gateway as the school's core network access controller. A dedicated firewall was configured at the perimeter to block unauthorised traffic and protect internal school systems. DNS filtering was applied at the resolution layer — when a student device requests any website, the DNS query is checked against regularly updated category databases before a response is returned. URL filtering added granular control on top, enabling the school's IT administrator to define specific blocked and allowed URL patterns and create time-based policies.
